Indian currencies

Should definitely add the Indian use of lakh (100,000) and crore (see Indian numbering system 2A00:23C8:B903:2601:ED15:A9EE:FA49:31F0 (talk) 07:22, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Say hello to the four new metric prefixes

As of December 2024, brunta, bramto, agana, and azeko have became the official prefixes of the metric prefix. They will soon be adopted by BIPM soon. I saw in the table the prefix "verdo" as 10^33, however it lists a source that does not mention it: https://www.bipm.org/en/cgpm-2022/resolution-3

Atto- for a

I think the symbol 'a', is in use for atto-. I will change the 10^-36, the azeko prefix from 'a' to 'ζ'. The lowercase Zeta could be used as a unit symbol. Therefore I propose saying 'B', 'b', 'A' and 'ζ' (lowercase zeta, not lowercase 'a') are completely unused. Few letters in the English alphabet remain free to be used: probably only 'l', yielding ledecca and ledecto, or maybe laffra (from laffron 'meaning 13 in Femenstork'), and larfo (from larfette 'meaning 13 in Oniliganji') for 10³⁹ and 10^-39, respectively.

Uhh... No! I will wait, but brown said the letter 'B' is almost unused as a unit symbol.

If BIPM adds the newer prefixes, the SI prefix better not be limited to quetta-.

The letter “B” is used for the unit bel, before 2022, Q/q and R/r were the only Latin letters available for abbreviations, all other Latin letters are either already used for other prefixes (a, c, d, E, f, G, h, k, M, m, n, P, p, T, Y, y, Z, z) or already used for SI units (including: SI base units, SI derived units, Non-SI units mentioned in the SI) (A, B, C, d, F, g, H, h, J, K, L, m, N, S, s, T, t, u, V, W) or easily confused with mathematical operators (I and l are easily confused with 1, O and o are easily confused with 0, X and x are easily confused with ×), although the letters B (for bel), L (for litre), u (for unified atomic mass unit) need the Non-SI units mentioned in the SI. 220.132.216.52 (talk) 13:52, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
